The Molly (Poecilia sphenops or Poecilia latipinna) is a popular, peaceful, and hardy freshwater fish known for its wide variety of vibrant colors, distinct fin shapes, and active swimming behavior, making it an excellent choice for beginner aquarists. It is native to coastal and freshwater habitats of the Americas and is highly celebrated for its adaptability.

- They are active, social, and peaceful fish that should be kept in groups with a ratio of at least two to three females for every one male.
- They are highly peaceful community fish, though mature males can occasionally engage in mild territorial sparring or chasing with other males.
- Beginner-friendly.
- Maximum size: 6–12cm (depending on the specific variety, such as Short-fin or Sailfin).
- Ideal water temperature: 22.0°C - 28.0°C
- pH range: 7.5 - 8.5
