Corydoras - New Panda CW051 (Hoplisoma sp. “CW051”)
The CW051 Corydoras, commonly known as the "New Panda" or Black-saddled Cory, is a peaceful, shoaling freshwater catfish species originating from the Upper Amazon basin near the Colombia/Brazil/Peru border. It has recently been reclassified under the genus Hoplisoma (previously Corydoras).
Key Features:
- It is a very peaceful community fish that thrives when kept in groups of five or more.
- Temperament - ideal tank mates are other small, peaceful species such as tetras, rasboras, and danios
- Moderate-friendly care level
- Maximum size: 4-6cm
- Ideal water temperature: 22.0°C - 25.0°C
- pH range: 6.0 - 8.0
The tank should have plenty of shady areas created by driftwood, rockwork, or tall plants, leaving an open area of sand for foraging. They are bottom-dwellers and require a soft sand substrate to protect their delicate barbels as they forage for food.
