Corydoras - Napoensis (Corydoras napoensis)
The Napoensis Corydoras (Corydoras napoensis), also known as the Napo Cory, is a small, peaceful freshwater catfish native to the Napo River basin in South America. Prized in the aquarium hobby for its subtle, "galaxy-like" speckled pattern and calm temperament, it is an excellent community fish.
Key Features:
- Very peaceful, social, and shy; best kept in groups of 5 or more.
- Temperament - tetras (like Neon, Cardinal, or Black Neon Tetras), Rasboras (Harlequin Rasboras), Danios, and Guppies are all excellent choices
- Moderate-friendly care level
- Maximum size: 4-6cm
- Ideal water temperature: 22.0°C - 26.0°C
- pH range: 6.0 - 7.5
A soft, sandy substrate is crucial to protect their delicate barbels as they forage. Avoid sharp or coarse gravel. They thrive in a well-planted tank with plenty of hiding spots like driftwood, rocks, and leaf litter.
