Corydoras - Delphax (Brochis delphax)
The Delphax Corydoras (Brochis delphax, formerly Corydoras delphax) is a peaceful, armored freshwater catfish known for its pale, beige body with dark spots and a distinct black "saddle" mark on its back. They are popular community aquarium fish that are native to the Orinoco River basin in Colombia and Venezuela.
Key Features:
- Delphax Corydoras are highly gregarious and peaceful fish that should be kept in groups of at least six or more of their own species to thrive and feel secure.
- Temperament - excellent companions for Delphax Corydoras include peaceful, small-to-medium sized fish that primarily occupy the middle and upper levels of the aquarium, ensuring they don't compete for the same space or food
- Moderate-friendly care level
- Maximum size: 6.5-7.5cm
- Ideal water temperature: 22.0°C - 26.0°C
- pH range: 6.0 - 7.5
They are bottom-dwelling fish that appreciate a soft, fine sand substrate to protect their sensitive barbels while foraging for food. Ample hiding places like driftwood, rocks, and live plants should be provided to mimic their natural habitat.
