Corydoras - Albino (Corydoras aeneus)
The albino corydoras (most commonly an albino morph of the Corydoras aeneus or Corydoras paleatus) is a popular, peaceful, and hardy freshwater catfish known for its pale pinkish-white body and bright red eyes. They are valued in community aquariums as active, bottom-dwelling "clean-up crew" members that are easy to care for.
Key Features:
- They are highly social schooling fish and thrive in groups of six or more of their own species. Keeping them alone can lead to stress or inactivity.
- Temperament - they are peaceful and compatible with a wide range of non-aggressive community fish such as tetras, rasboras, guppies, and angelfish
- Beginner-friendly care level
- Maximum size: 6-7.5cm
- Ideal water temperature: 22.0°C - 28.0°C
- pH range: 6.5 - 7.5
The substrate should be sand or fine, smooth gravel to protect their sensitive barbels (whiskers) used for foraging. They appreciate a well-planted aquarium with plenty of hiding spots like driftwood, caves, or other ornaments to feel secure.
