TheΒ Sterbai Cory (Hoplisoma sterbai) is a vibrant, hardy, and active freshwater fish known for its striking dark-bodied polka-dot pattern accented by light horizontal speckling and brilliant, glowing bright-orange pectoral fins. It is a popular and excellent choice for aquarists of all experience levels due to its easy care requirements.
Key Features
- Generally peaceful, but they are active, social, and known to become stressed or reclusive if kept in small groups. Keeping them in a school of at least five or six helps minimize stress and prompts them to display their best natural schooling and foraging behaviors.

They appreciate a well-planted aquarium with open areas for swimming and foraging along the bottom. A secure lid is recommended as they are capable of darting to the surface for a breath of atmospheric air and can occasionally jump.
