Nisso Custom Aquarium Soil lowers pH and has a water softening effect which is ideal for plants and shrimp. The pellets also have great cation exchange properties.

Nisso Custom Shrimp Soil does not cloud the water as readily as other nutrient soil and requires no rinsing prior to use. Nisso Custom Shrimp soil is ideal for use in Caradina shrimp Aquariums.

Substrate nutrients can become depleted after 6-8 months due to intensive nutrient uptake and water changes. We can improve the substrate again with root tabs. We use and recommend ADA Bottom Plus for all heavy root feeders.

When planning your aquarium substrate ideally a depth of 3-4 inches is sufficient for most aquarium plants.
